Anees Mansoori says martyrs never die; their courage continues to inspire generations to serve the nation

The supreme courage and sacrifice of 1965 India-Pakistan war hero and Param Vir Chakra awardee Shaheed Veer Abdul Hamid continue to stand as an enduring symbol of patriotism and devotion to the nation. Anees Mansoori, National President of the Pasmanda Muslim Samaj and former minister, said that Abdul Hamid displayed extraordinary courage while taking on powerful Patton tanks during the war and ultimately laid down his life in the defence of the country.
The remarks were made at an Isal-e-Sawab and tribute programme organised at the organisation’s office in Lalbagh on the death anniversary of the decorated war hero.
Mansoori said that the sacrifice of a soldier who gives his life for the defence of the country represents the highest form of service and commitment. He said martyrs never truly die because their courage, sacrifice and ideals continue to live in the collective memory of the nation.
Calling upon society to uphold honesty, sacrifice and humanity, Mansoori said that serving the country should remain a fundamental responsibility of every citizen. He stressed that national strength is built not only by protecting the country’s borders but also by promoting unity, harmony and a sense of responsibility within society.
The programme began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, Durood-e-Pak and Fateha. Participants prayed for the forgiveness of the departed soul and offered prayers for Isal-e-Sawab. Floral tributes were also paid before the portrait of Shaheed Veer Abdul Hamid. The gathering carried a strong message of patriotism, respect for the armed forces and communal harmony.
Abu Bakr Idrisi urged the Uttar Pradesh government to establish a military college in the name of Veer Abdul Hamid. He said such an institution could help inspire young people to join the armed forces and dedicate themselves to the service of the nation.
Among those present were Chaudhary Shadab Qureshi, Daulat Ali Ghosi, Ejaz Ahmed, Qari Shafique Alam, Maulana Ilyas Mansoori, Pappu Qureshi, Junaid Qureshi, Sabiha Sultana, Mohammad Kaleem Guddu, Narendra Singh Yadav, Ram Prakash Maurya and Siraj Mansoori, along with a large number of citizens.
