CM Yogi Unveils ‘Kaushalam’, Honours 11 Youth Icons for Excellence in Skill Development

Reinforcing its commitment to building a self-reliant Uttar Pradesh through skill development, the state government organized a grand World Youth Skills Day 2026 celebration at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan under the theme “From Skills to Self-Reliance, From Self-Reliance to Dignity.”
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Skill Development Exhibition, released the department’s flagship publication “Kaushalam,” watched a documentary showcasing departmental achievements and honoured 11 outstanding Youth Icons for their exceptional accomplishments.

Skills Driving Employment Growth
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Kapil Dev Agarwal said Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a national model for skill development under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Major Achievements Highlighted
The Minister stated that over the past nine years, 2 million youth have received skill training, with 1.25 million securing employment. The government has set a target of training 1 million youth during 2026-27. Mapping of nearly 9.4 million MSMEs, a ₹3,310 crore departmental budget, a ₹7,000 crore CSR partnership with Tata Group, and modernization of 225 ITIs were highlighted among the key achievements.
Future-Ready Workforce
The state is expanding training in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, IoT, Electric Vehicles, 3D Printing, Advanced CNC, Automation and Semiconductor technologies. Digital initiatives including Blue Dot Software, Kaushal Disha, Kaushal Darpan, Kaushal Drishti and the 24×7 Kaushal Dost Chatbot are connecting skilled youth directly with employers.
Young Achievers Inspire Others
Several beneficiaries shared inspiring success stories—from securing high-paying jobs to launching technology startups and successful self-employment ventures. The Chief Minister honoured 11 youth achievers from different districts, recognizing their contribution to entrepreneurship and employment generation.
The event concluded with the release of “Kaushalam,” documenting key achievements of the Central and Uttar Pradesh Governments in vocational education and skill development.
