After an intensive 84-day stay in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the infant has overcome life-threatening complications, marking one of the most significant achievements in neonatal medicine in Uttar Pradesh.
A Rare Medical Success
Immediately after birth, the newborn required advanced life support and remained on a mechanical ventilator for an extended period. She also underwent blood transfusions and received continuous critical care from a multidisciplinary team of neonatologists, nurses, and intensive care specialists. Every stage of treatment demanded constant monitoring and precision.
Steady Recovery Brings Hope
Following nearly three months of specialized care, the baby’s weight has increased from 480 grams to 770 grams. She is now breathing independently on room air, feeding 15 ml of milk every three hours, and all vital clinical parameters are reported to be stable. Doctors describe her recovery as extraordinary and highly encouraging.
A Record for Uttar Pradesh
According to the hospital, the infant is believed to be the lowest birth-weight baby in Uttar Pradesh to survive, surpassing the previous reported survival record of 685 grams. Medical experts also consider the case exceptionally rare at the national level, highlighting the advances in neonatal intensive care available today.
