Crackdown on School Vehicles: 15-Day Mega Inspection Drive Begins,
Mandatory Portal Upload: No Fitness Check Without Compliance

A crucial meeting of the District Road Safety Committee was held under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate, focusing on tightening safety norms for school vehicles. The key agenda was the implementation of the Integrated School Vehicle Monitoring Portal introduced by the Uttar Pradesh government.
Officials announced a special technical inspection drive from April 1 to April 15, 2026, targeting all school vehicles in the district. Superintendent of Police (City) Virendra Dwivedi emphasized the need for regular vehicle maintenance and strict adherence to government safety standards.
ARTO Hariom informed that all schools must upload vehicle documents and driver character certificates on the portal. Only after successful upload will vehicles be eligible for technical inspection.
He further warned that vehicles older than 15 years or those failing to meet prescribed safety norms will face immediate cancellation of registration and permits. This move aims to eliminate unsafe vehicles from the system.
The meeting was attended by officials from police, transport, and education departments, along with school management representatives.
