Verify Layouts Before Buying Land: KDA Warns Public to Avoid Financial Loss

The Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) has launched a massive enforcement drive against illegal and unauthorized colonies in the city. Under the strict direction of KDA Vice-Chairman Shri Ankur Kaushik and Secretary Shri Abhay Kumar Pandey, the Enforcement Zone-4 team demolished illegal plotting spread over 31 bighas in the Sanigawan area. Additionally, the authority has identified and issued structural notices to four other illegal plotting sites covering 71.5 bighas across Ahirwan and Nagawan villages.
3-Hour Bulldozer Drive Crushes Unauthorized Colony
Led by Dr. Ravi Pratap Singh, OSD/Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Enforcement Zone-4), the demolition took place at ‘Adarsh Vihar Society’ in Sanigawan. Developers including Ajab Singh, Surendra Kushwaha, and Himanshu were developing this colony over 31 bighas without any approved layout. Deploying two JCB machines for a continuous three-hour operation, KDA flattened roads, boundary walls, drainage networks, electricity poles, entry gates, sewer lines, and several under-construction buildings.
71.5 Bighas Under Radar; Citing Imminent Actions
Furthermore, KDA detected four more massive unauthorized developments in Ahirwan and Nagawan areas where developers like Anil Verma, Pappu Yadav, Monu, and others failed to show approved maps. KDA officials warned that if valid responses are not received within the stipulated timeframe, these properties will be sealed and demolished. Keeping public interest in mind, Dr. Ravi Pratap Singh appealed to the citizens to cross-check layout approvals directly with KDA before purchasing any plot to prevent mental and financial distress in the future.
