. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah visited the historic Sanchu Post of the Border Security Force (BSF) on the Indo-Pak international border in Bikaner, Rajasthan. Addressing the ‘Prahari Sammelan’, the Home Minister interacted with the jawans and virtually inaugurated 14 newly constructed barracks dedicated to women personnel. The event was attended by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, and top security brass. Shah paid rich tributes to over 2,000 BSF martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation.

The Quadripartite Security Grid for Zero Infiltration

Stressing a comprehensive security model, Amit Shah asserted that border security is not an isolated duty but a collective territorial responsibility. He introduced the ‘Quadripartite Security Grid’ comprising the BSF, Indian Army, border citizens, and local administration to ensure zero infiltration. Justifying the extension of BSF’s jurisdiction from 15 km to 50 km, Shah directed the force to keep a strict vigil on any unnatural demographic changes and unauthorized constructions within the 50 km radius, prompting immediate coordination with the local civil administration.

Tech Warfare: Global Upgrades & Anti-Drone Infrastructure

Tackling cross-border tech smuggling, the Home Minister announced that anti-drone systems will be deployed along the border within the next six months to ruthlessly eliminate the trafficking of arms and narcotics. He emphasized identifying the domestic recipients of drone payloads through close synergy with district police. Highlighting infrastructure boosts, Shah noted that a 1,096 km lateral road and 520 km axial road are transforming border connectivity, while piped drinking water has already reached 180 outposts. He also urged the BSF to spearhead the ‘Vibrant Villages Programme’ to achieve 100% saturation of welfare schemes in frontier regions.
