A significant political development unfolded in Uttar Pradesh as former Education Minister Dr. Masood Ahmad joined the Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) after resigning from the Congress. Hundreds of leaders and workers from Congress, the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), and other political groups also joined the party during the event in Lucknow.

Welcoming Dr. Ahmad, MP and National President Chandrashekhar Azad said his entry represents more than just a political induction. According to him, it brings fresh energy and strategic strength to the Bahujan movement, given Dr. Ahmad’s decades of experience in social justice politics.
Focus on 2027 Assembly Elections
Chandrashekhar Azad reiterated that the Azad Samaj Party is preparing aggressively for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. He emphasized issues including restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), police reforms, education, employment, and social justice.
Four Decades of Political Experience
Dr. Masood Ahmad has served as an MLA, Uttar Pradesh Education Minister, and former State President of the RLD. After joining the party, he said the Azad Samaj Party offers the strongest platform to carry forward the vision of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram, while strengthening constitutional values and Bahujan unity.
Changing Political Equations?
Political observers believe Dr. Ahmad’s induction could strengthen the party’s organizational network and expand its influence among Dalits, OBCs, minorities, and traditional Bahujan supporters ahead of the 2027 elections.
