Bringing passport services closer to citizens, the Regional Passport Office (RPO), Lucknow organised a special Mobile Passport Seva Van camp at the Allahabad High Court on 21 and 22 August 2026. The initiative enabled nearly 90 passport applications to be processed and completed within the High Court campus.
The mobile van provided a complete range of passport-related services, including document verification, biometric enrolment, identity validation and other mandatory formalities. Applicants completed the entire process without visiting a Passport Seva Kendra, making the service faster, easier and more convenient.
The Regional Passport Office, Lucknow has been actively expanding the reach of passport services through mobile camps across Uttar Pradesh. Similar camps have already been organised in Mahoba, Chitrakoot, Basti and Chandauli, while a successful special camp was also conducted at IIT Kanpur, benefiting students, faculty members and staff.
Officials said the Mobile Passport Seva Van has been introduced to ensure that citizens in remote districts and large institutions receive passport services near their workplace or residence, reducing travel time and additional expenses.
The RPO, Lucknow reaffirmed its commitment to organising more such camps in educational institutions, government offices and remote regions based on public demand and administrative requirements. The initiative reflects the government’s focus on accessible, transparent and citizen-friendly passport services under the Digital India mission.
By taking passport services directly to institutions and underserved locations, the Mobile Passport Seva Van is making the passport application process more efficient, inclusive and hassle-free for thousands of applicants across Uttar Pradesh.
