Akhilesh Yadav launched a sharp political attack on the ruling government during a press conference, accusing it of systematically weakening reservation rights meant for PDA communities — backward classes, Dalits, and minorities. He unveiled a campaign titled “PDA Reservation Scam,” alleging large-scale injustice in education and government recruitment.
According to the Samajwadi Party chief, reserved seats meant for marginalized communities are being unfairly reduced or diverted in educational institutions and even in smaller recruitment drives. He claimed that the present system is depriving PDA communities of their constitutional rights and representation.
Akhilesh Yadav stated that Indian society has historically remained divided between dominant and deprived sections for thousands of years. Referring to the present political environment, he alleged that forces opposing social equality have become more aggressive under the current government.
In one of his strongest remarks, he accused the BJP of acting like an “umpire” trying to ensure victory for socially dominant groups in a centuries-old unequal social structure. He emphasized that reservation is not charity or appeasement, but a constitutional right and the voice of PDA communities struggling for social justice and equal opportunity.
Political observers believe the Samajwadi Party is attempting to make reservation, representation, and social justice the central themes of its future political strategy in Uttar Pradesh. Through the PDA narrative, the party appears focused on consolidating backward, Dalit, and minority voters ahead of upcoming electoral battles.
