‘Donation & Stone Theft’ Denting Faith; No Trust in SIT, Demands Daily Briefing: SP Chief
(By Pooja Srivastava, Anytime News Network)
Launching a blistering attack on the ruling BJP, Samajwadi Party National President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav stated that Ayodhya would ultimately prove to be a “Kurukshetra” (battleground) for the “great sinners.” He remarked that the saffron party’s politics, which originated in Ayodhya, would also meet its final end right there.
The SP chief raised deep concerns over the ongoing controversies, claiming that reports of theft involving temple offerings, donations, and sacred stones (“shilas”) have severely impacted pilgrim footfall. He noted that the shattered faith of devotees has directly hit the local economy, hurting the income of common traders and residents in Ayodhya. “Why should the innocent public suffer for the blunders of the government?” Yadav questioned.
Expressing worry over the ground reality, Akhilesh Yadav said that a wave of immense anger is brewing in and around Ayodhya. He alleged that the BJP workers and their associates, who polluted the sanctity of this holy Sanatani pilgrimage site, have gone underground after completing their misdeeds. The lack of transparency from the administration has created an atmosphere of fear and tension, making even locals hesitant to visit temples out of fear of harassment under the guise of investigation.
Demanding absolute transparency, the leader insisted on a daily press briefing regarding the ongoing probe. He remarked that given the rampant corruption under the current regime, the public has zero faith left in the Special Investigation Team (SIT). Furthermore, termed the recent reports of irregularities emerging from Mathura as highly alarming, Yadav demanded an immediate high-level, credible inquiry into that matter as well.
