 Anytime News Network (Pooja Shrivastava):

In a landmark decision that has sparked a wave of joy among financial sector workers, the Uttar Pradesh Cooperation Department has officially approved the long-pending wage revision for district cooperative bank employees. The historic announcement was made on Monday, June 15, 2026, during a high-profile meeting chaired by the UP Minister of State for Cooperation (Independent Charge), Shri J.P.S. Rathore, at the UP State Cooperative Bank headquarters in Lucknow.

3 Decades of Stagnation Cleared for 14 Districts: The department addressed the grievances of several bank union representatives, granting significant pay upgrades based on the financial evaluation of various branches:

  • 06 Districts (30+ Years Wait): Employees in Bahraich, Ballia, Sultanpur, Jaunpur, Siddharthnagar, and Hardoi—who were deprived of a hike for over thirty years—will finally receive the 2011 pay scale.

  • 08 Districts (20+ Years Wait): Similarly, bank workers in Deoria, Ghazipur, Varanasi, Sitapur, Ayodhya, Fatehpur, Azamgarh, and Gorakhpur will also transition to the 2011 pay scale after a gap of two decades. The management committees of these respective banks have been authorized to pass resolutions to implement this immediately.

Norms for Remaining 34 Banks: The Minister clarified that the remaining 34 district cooperative banks in the state will also become eligible for this wage revision benefit as soon as they fulfill the necessary operational and financial benchmarks set by NABARD.

Directives for Digital Renewal and Farmers’ Relief: Apart from the salary hike, Minister Rathore conducted a strict review of the banks’ financial health, focusing on bad loan (NPA) recovery, computerization, and expanding loan distribution. He ordered that depositors’ payments must be prioritized to maintain market trust. Furthermore, he directed officials to expedite the resolution of grievances related to the Debt Waiver Scheme (Rinmochan Yojana) so that maximum farmers can reap its benefits timely.

The meeting concluded with employee union leaders, including State President Ajay Verma and General Secretary Sudhir Kumar Singh, presenting a vote of thanks to Minister Rathore and Principal Secretary Ajay Kumar Shukla for resolving this generational issue.
