In a massive pan-district enforcement drive to eliminate the illicit trade of spurious and unauthorized medicines, the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) department of Uttar Pradesh launched a lightning raid in Agra. Under the direct leadership of the Commissioner, a special task force comprising 25 drug inspectors targeted over 20 firms, residential units, and secret warehouses across Khinni Gali, Fountains, Sanjay Place, and Kamala Nagar between June 12 and June 14, 2026. The operation resulted in the seizure of illegal medicines worth over ₹63 lakh and the registration of 3 FIRs under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Unlawful Re-labeling and Severe Cold Chain Breaches

  • Bright Pharma (Manish Panjwani alias Sunny): Acting on a confidential tip-off, officials raided Panjwani’s residence in Dayalbagh. Highly sensitive lifesaving injections like Trinbelimab, Anti-D (Rho) Immunoglobulin (Government Supply), and Insulin Glargine were found stored under hazardous conditions with broken cold chains. The accused was caught re-labeling government medicines to alter prices. Stocks worth ₹5.20 lakh were seized and an FIR was lodged at New Agra Police Station.

  • M/s C F Enterprises (Mohammad Shahid Qureshi): Qureshi was found operating illegally from a self-expired registered warehouse of Gaurav Medico in Khinni Gali. Medicines worth an estimated ₹40 lakh were sealed from this site.

  • Illegal Hubs of Sumit Madhwani & Sumit Gupta: Warehouses owned by Madhwani and Gupta were caught stockpiling ‘Physician Samples’ (Not for Sale) worth ₹12 lakh and ₹15 lakh respectively for illegal commercial sale. Both have been booked at the Kotwali (Fountain) Police Station.

Strict Penalties Imposed on Retail Outlets The inspection extended to mainstream counters where Porwal Medicare faced a seizure of stocks worth ₹7.63 lakh due to a critical cold chain failure in Clindamycin injections. Furthermore, outlets like Hare Ka Sahara Enterprise, Sarveshwar Pharma, Sai Kripa Distributors, Madhav Kripa Agencies, and Durga Medicos were penalized for dynamic discrepancies in transaction records, leading to an immediate suspension of sales for several suspicious drug matches.

This high-octane operation follows a similar drive in May 2026, where assets worth ₹3 crore were seized from Jyoti Drug House and Shree Medical Agencies, bringing the total seizures in May-June 2026 to a whopping ₹3.63 crore with 4 detailed FIRs. The Commissioner of FSDA UP has issued a strict mandate to cancel long-inactive licenses and ordered landlords in the Agra medicine market to verify that only authorized tenants with active valid licenses are occupying the premises.
