Awareness Drive Against Child Marriage Held in Konch, Students Deliver Strong Message

: A “Child Marriage Prevention Awareness Seminar” was organized by Anuragini Sanstha at Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls School in collaboration with the district administration.
Anita Gupta, Member of the Uttar Pradesh State Women Commission, attended as the chief guest, while Dr. Praveen Singh Jadaun presided over the event.
The program began with a ceremonial lamp lighting and cultural performances by students. Through songs, plays, and stage acts, students highlighted the harmful impact of child marriage on girls’ education, health, and independence.
Addressing the gathering, Anita Gupta emphasized that child marriage is not just a social evil but a serious violation of girls’ rights. She urged society to prioritize education, safety, and empowerment of girls as the true path to progress.
Jyoti Singh stated that the administration is committed to ensuring that no girl is deprived of her rights, stressing that awareness is key to eliminating child marriage.
Local leaders, including Pradeep Gupta, also highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in tackling the issue.
Several dignitaries, social workers, and officials participated in the event, reinforcing the message of awareness and empowerment. The program concluded with a collective pledge by students and community members to build a child marriage-free society.
