Major Credit Deployment
Indian Bank organised a Mega Loan Disbursement and Customer Outreach Camp in Mumbai as part of its 120th Foundation Day fortnight celebrations. Beneficiaries from Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa received loan sanction letters amounting to a combined ₹1,220 crore across the Retail, Agriculture and MSME segments, collectively referred to as the RAM portfolio.
₹615 Crore for MSMEs
The bank approved ₹615 crore specifically for the MSME sector, underlining its focus on strengthening entrepreneurship, business activity and employment generation.
The initiative reflects Indian Bank’s strategy of expanding its presence across the RAM segments while improving access to customer-focused credit.
Timely Credit Matters
Indian Bank Managing Director and CEO Binod Kumar inaugurated the camp and handed over loan sanction letters to beneficiaries.
He stressed that timely and adequate access to credit is essential for enabling individuals, farmers and entrepreneurs to realise their aspirations. According to him, retail, agriculture and MSMEs remain major drivers of employment generation, entrepreneurship and inclusive economic growth.
Strengthening Financial Inclusion
The bank said the initiative is aligned with its broader strategic objective of strengthening its RAM portfolio, improving credit availability and supporting the financial aspirations of ordinary citizens, farmers and entrepreneurs.
The emphasis on customer-centric financial facilitation is intended to make banking support more responsive to the changing needs of borrowers.
CSR with a Social Focus
The bank is also conducting several Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives across the country as part of its Foundation Day celebrations.
In Mumbai, Victoria Memorial School for the Blind received computers, laptops and essential infrastructure items from the bank.
Support for Sports
At a programme in Kochi, Indian Bank Executive Director Mini T.M. provided financial assistance for the development of sports activities at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT).
The twin focus on credit outreach and social initiatives highlights Indian Bank’s broader approach of connecting financial services with enterprise development, agriculture, employment and community welfare.
