Reconstruction Initiated Under HUDCO’s CSR Fund in Atal Centenary Year; BJP Restored Dignity of Dhanuk & Valmiki Communities

LUCKNOW. Rajya Sabha MP and former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Dinesh Sharma stated that ‘Kalyan Mandap’ is the ultimate proclamation of welfare for the underprivileged. The visionary scheme of constructing budget-friendly community halls for the poor was originally pioneered by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Aligning with his ethos, Lucknow’s first-ever Kalyan Mandap was built in Sudarshanpuri Colony, an area predominantly inhabited by the sanitation workers of the Dhanuk community. Dr. Sharma made these remarks as the chief guest during the foundation-stone laying ceremony for the ₹2.50 crore reconstruction project of the Municipal Corporation Kalyan Mandap in Aishbagh.

The high-profile event was graced by the notable presence of Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharkwal. Marking the ongoing ‘Atal Centenary Year’, Dr. Dinesh Sharma recommended a massive grant of ₹2.5 crore from HUDCO’s CSR fund to initiate the comprehensive overhaul of this community center, appointing the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) as the executing agency. He highly commended the Mayor for driving a wave of infrastructural development across the capital.

Dr. Dinesh Sharma emphasized that the BJP government has broken old political patterns by ensures that projects launched by them are successfully completed and inaugurated on time. He noted that the benchmark of quality maintained under the current regime guarantees that the assets serve the public for decades. Crediting Defense Minister Rajnath Singh for Lucknow’s historical transformation, Dr. Sharma ordered the immediate installation of 6 solar lights, one high-mast light, and a commercial water cooler in Sudarshanpuri. Mayor Sushma Kharkwal vowed to get this high-quality project delivered before November 15.

Affectionately calling the neighboring Dhanuk and Kanaujia Dhobi communities his extended family, Dr. Sharma stated that the BJP government has continuously elevated the living standards of marginalized sections, empowering their youngsters to excel in education. Recalling a powerful gesture by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he mentioned that by washing the feet of sanitation brothers during the Kumbh Mela, the PM sent a historic message of equality and deep respect, proving that no occupation is big or small.

The event was attended by prominent dignitaries including BJP Metropolitan President Anand Dwivedi, Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Kumar, Additional Municipal Commissioner Arun Gupta, former Minister Munna Singh Dhanuk, HUDCO Regional Chief Naresh Kumar, alongside local leaders and councilors Sandeep Sharma, Ajay Dixit, Rahul Mishra, and Rajeev Tripathi.
