In the wake of a devastating fire in Vikas Nagar Sector-11, Lucknow, concerns over relief and rehabilitation have intensified. Leaders and workers of Socialist Party (India), led by State President Salahuddin (Shibu) Advocate, submitted a memorandum to the Uttar Pradesh government through the District Magistrate, demanding urgent support for affected families.
According to party representatives, the fire reduced an entire settlement to ashes, leaving thousands homeless. Reports of two children losing their lives have further deepened the gravity of the tragedy. While some temporary assistance is being provided by NGOs and social workers, the lack of a structured, long-term rehabilitation plan remains a serious concern.
The delegation emphasized that only the government can ensure sustainable relief measures, including permanent housing, electricity, clean water, and medical facilities. They urged authorities to conduct an immediate survey and initiate rehabilitation efforts without delay.
Leaders highlighted that victims are looking towards the state government with hope, expecting swift intervention. They called upon the Chief Minister to direct concerned departments to take concrete action and restore dignity and stability in the lives of the affected families.
Several senior party members, including National General Secretary Sandeep Pandey, were present during the submission of the memorandum.
