Momentum—Leaders from BSP, BJP Join Ahead of 2027

: Akhilesh Yadav is accelerating the Samajwadi Party’s social engineering strategy ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, appointing Seema Rajbhar (also known as Bhavana) as the National President of its women’s wing.
A former leader of SBSP and ex-national secretary of SP’s student wing, her elevation is widely seen as an attempt to counter the influence of Om Prakash Rajbhar and strengthen SP’s outreach among the Rajbhar community in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Earlier, the party had appointed former MP Phoolan to appeal to the Nishad community, indicating a broader caste-based outreach strategy. The announcement of Seema Rajbhar’s appointment was made by former women’s wing president Juhi Singh.
At the same time, SP continues to expand its base by inducting leaders from various parties. Notable entrants include BSP spokesperson Dr. M.H. Khan, BJP leader Akhilesh Pathak, Shyam Lal Nishad from Most Kalyan Sansthan, and Lok Dal’s Vijay, among others.
Political analysts view these developments as part of SP’s aggressive expansion plan to consolidate smaller caste groups and strengthen the PDA (Backward, Dalit, Minority) coalition.
Overall, the move signals a calculated effort by SP to reshape electoral dynamics and build momentum ahead of a crucial political battle in 2027.
