: The government has sent a strong and unequivocal message—there will be zero compromise when it comes to children’s safety. In response to rising concerns over school vehicle accidents, authorities have tightened enforcement and introduced a technology-driven monitoring system to ensure compliance with safety standards.
The Uttar Pradesh Transport Department has implemented the Integrated School Vehicle Monitoring Portal (ISVMP), enabling real-time digital tracking and verification of school vehicles. The system ensures that only vehicles meeting fitness standards, possessing valid insurance, and complying with prescribed norms are allowed to operate.
Inspection drives are being carried out continuously by transport department teams across schools. These inspections include thorough checks of vehicle fitness, fire safety equipment, validity of documents, and driver eligibility. Schools found lacking in compliance are being directed to take immediate corrective measures, failing which strict action is being initiated.
Ritu Singh, Divisional Transport Officer (Administration), Ayodhya, emphasized that monitoring through ISVMP has made the system fully transparent and digitally accountable. She stated that all schools have been instructed to upload complete details of their vehicles and drivers on the portal within the stipulated timeframe.
She further clarified that this initiative is not merely procedural but a critical safety measure directly linked to the lives of children. Any negligence or violation of norms will invite strict legal consequences.
