In a decisive stride toward reinforcing India’s national security architecture and self-reliance, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh is set to conduct a comprehensive annual performance review of 16 Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) in New Delhi on September 1, 2026. The high-profile evaluation will spotlight the relentless momentum in creating cutting-edge indigenous technologies and supercharging defense exports. Highlighting this phenomenal fiscal health, the CMDs of seven premier DPSUs—Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE), BEML, and MIDHANI—will formally present dividend cheques for the Government’s equity shares for the Financial Year 2025–26 to the Raksha Mantri.
Adding literary and strategic depth to the landmark event, Shri Rajnath Singh will release four monumental publications: ‘Aatmanirbhar DPSU – A journey of DPSUs towards Self-Reliance’; DISHA, an innovative student-centric initiative designed to impart hands-on awareness of modern defense technologies and manufacturing processes; HAL’s comprehensive Modernisation Roadmap; and HAL’s strategic Indigenisation Roadmap.
The financial performance of DPSUs throughout FY 2025–26 has been nothing short of extraordinary. Total cumulative turnover soared to an impressive Rs 1.29 lakh crore, marking a robust 15.4 percent surge from FY 2024–25. Concurrently, the DPSUs secured a cumulative Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs 23,136 crore, registering a steady 15.6 percent growth over the preceding year. Most remarkably, international recognition of Indian defense prowess culminated in a staggering 151.2 percent year-on-year growth in DPSU exports, cementing India’s footprint as a trusted global defense manufacturer.
