The Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) carried out a major anti-encroachment and demolition drive against illegal plotting activities in Zone-4 on Friday. The action was conducted under the direction of Vice Chairman Ankur Kaushik and Secretary Abhay Kumar Pandey, led by Special Enforcement Officer and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Dr. Ravi Pratap Singh.
According to officials, illegal plotting was being developed over nearly 10.5 bigha land in Mouja Ahirwa, Kanpur Nagar, by Harihar Tiwari and others without obtaining approved maps or authorization from the development authority. Acting against the unauthorized development, KDA teams demolished the illegal structures and infrastructure created at the site.
During the operation, roads, drainage systems, boundary walls, electric poles, pillars, entry gates, sewer lines, and several constructed and under-construction buildings were removed using two JCB machines. Authorities stated that unauthorized colonies and illegal land development activities would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The enforcement team also identified two additional illegal plotting sites in Chhatmara village. One involved approximately 4 bigha land linked to Shri Ram, Shri Shyam, and others, while another covered around 3.5 bigha land associated with Shanti Devi, Sanjay Pandey, and others. Officials stated that the developers failed to produce approved layout maps for the projects. Notices have been issued, and if satisfactory responses are not submitted within the stipulated time, sealing and demolition action will follow.
Dr. Ravi Pratap Singh appealed to citizens to verify layout approvals from the Kanpur Development Authority before purchasing plots or land and to ensure construction is carried out only according to approved building maps to avoid future financial and legal complications.
The drive was conducted in the presence of Junior Engineer Atal Chaturvedi, supervisors Manoj Kumar, Sandeep Yadav, Abid Ahmad, Pramod Kumar, Ajay Chaurasia, Shivkumar, and adequate police force.
