: In a major step toward strengthening child protection through technology, the Ministry of Women and Child Development has launched an Integrated Mission Vatsalya Portal, creating a unified digital ecosystem for tracking, rescuing and rehabilitating children in need of care and protection.
The government has integrated the TrackChild Portal, Khoya-Paya Application, and Go Home and Re-Unite (GHAR) Portal into the Mission Vatsalya platform, enabling seamless coordination among multiple stakeholders involved in child welfare and protection.
Digital Intelligence for Faster Child Recovery
The portal has also been linked with the Ministry of Home Affairs’ Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS), allowing state police forces to automatically match FIRs of missing children with the national database. The integration is expected to significantly improve the speed and accuracy of tracing missing children.
Citizens Become Active Partners
Through the Khoya-Paya module, citizens can now directly report missing or found children, making public participation an integral part of the country’s child protection framework.
States Directed to Strengthen Monitoring
The Ministry has instructed all States and Union Territories to appoint dedicated nodal officers for missing children at both state and district levels. Child Welfare Committees (CWCs) and Juvenile Justice Boards (JJBs) have also been directed to ensure timely uploading and updating of case information on the portal.
Real-Time Data, Better Rehabilitation
Mission Vatsalya aims to ensure timely care, protection, rehabilitation and family reunification for children living in vulnerable circumstances. By integrating multiple digital platforms into a single ecosystem, the government seeks to improve transparency, accountability and real-time monitoring of child welfare services across the country.
The initiative represents another significant milestone in India’s efforts to build a technology-enabled, citizen-centric child protection system where every missing child can be traced, protected and reunited with their family more efficiently.
