: The Kanpur Development Authority carried out a major demolition drive on April 17, 2026, targeting illegal encroachments on public land. Acting under the directions of senior officials, authorities cleared unauthorized constructions in Taudhakpur and Vingawan areas.
In Taudhakpur, illegal boundary walls and temporary structures were built on grazing land (Plot No. 104). The encroached area, measuring around 600 square meters and valued at approximately ₹1.2 crore, was demolished and reclaimed.
Similarly, in Vingawan, unauthorized constructions on urban ceiling land (Plot No. 770) covering around 500 square meters and worth nearly ₹1 crore were removed during the operation.
The drive was conducted in the presence of enforcement teams, land bank officials, supervisors, and police personnel from Uttar Pradesh Police, ensuring smooth execution.
Zone-4 in-charge Dr. Archana Sharma stated that the reclaimed land is being secured through pre-cast boundary walls to prevent re-encroachment. Encroachers have been warned of strict legal action under IPC provisions if violations recur.
KDA has also urged citizens to voluntarily remove illegal constructions, failing which demolition costs will be recovered as land revenue dues. The authority confirmed that such enforcement drives will continue in the future.
